I Tried PRP for Better Orgasms — Here’s Exactly What Happened

Editor’s Note: In honour of National Orgasm Day this July, we invited one of our patients to share her personal experience with the PRP O-Shot. The thoughts and opinions below reflect her individual experience. As with any medical treatment, results vary from person to person, and a consultation with a qualified provider is the best way to determine whether this treatment is right for you.

There are certain wellness treatments people talk about openly — Botox, laser facials, hormone therapy, pelvic floor physiotherapy — and then there are the ones people whisper about after a second glass of wine.

For me, PRP for better orgasms fell into the second category.

I had heard about the PRP Oh-Shot before. I had seen it mentioned online, read a few “I tried it so you don’t have to” style articles, and had quietly wondered whether it was one of those treatments that sounded more intimidating than it actually was. I wasn’t looking to fix a major problem. I wasn’t unhappy with my sex life. But I was curious whether there was room for more sensation, more responsiveness, and maybe a little more intensity.

And honestly? Women’s sexual wellness is still not something most of us talk about as freely as we should.

We talk about sleep. We talk about stress. We talk about skincare routines with 11 steps. But desire, arousal, lubrication, sensation, and orgasm? Those conversations still feel a little more private, even though they affect quality of life in a very real way.

So after doing some research and speaking with NP Cat at Sin Worthy, I decided to try the PRP O-Shot.

Why I Was Curious About PRP for Better Orgasms

I went into the appointment with realistic expectations. I wasn’t expecting fireworks the next day or some overnight transformation. I understood that PRP is meant to work gradually by using components from your own blood to support tissue repair and regeneration.

Still, the idea made sense to me.

Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is created from a small sample of your own blood. The blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate the plasma that contains a concentrated amount of platelets and growth factors. In aesthetics and regenerative medicine, PRP has been used for years in treatments related to skin rejuvenation, hair restoration, and healing support.

In sexual wellness, PRP is injected into specific areas of the clitoris and the front wall of the vagina. The goal is to support local tissue health, improve blood flow, and potentially enhance sensitivity, arousal, lubrication, and orgasm quality.

It also appealed to me that PRP is autologous, meaning it comes from your own body. There was no filler, no implant, no foreign substance being introduced. Just my own plasma being used in a very targeted way.

The Science Is Still Evolving — But the Conversation Is Growing

One of the things I appreciated during my consultation was that the treatment wasn’t presented as a magic fix. PRP for sexual wellness is a growing area of medicine, and the research is still developing.

Female sexual dysfunction is more common than people realize and can include concerns with desire, arousal, orgasm, lubrication, sensation, and pain. Studies have estimated that sexual concerns affect a significant percentage of women, yet many women never bring it up with a provider unless they are directly asked.

That part resonated with me. Not because I felt “dysfunctional,” but because it reminded me how many women quietly accept changes in their sexual wellness as something they just have to live with.

Maybe it’s postpartum changes. Maybe it’s perimenopause. Maybe it’s stress, medication, dryness, hormonal shifts, or simply feeling less responsive than before. Whatever the reason, the bigger point is this: women deserve options, information, and providers who can have these conversations without awkwardness or shame.

What the Appointment Was Actually Like

Before my appointment, I didn’t tell many people. It wasn’t because I felt embarrassed. It just felt like something I wanted to do for myself first.

I wanted to form my own opinion before hearing anyone else’s.

The appointment itself was much easier than I expected. First, a topical numbing cream was applied to the treatment area. While that was taking effect, my blood was drawn, similar to routine bloodwork. The sample was then spun in a centrifuge to prepare the platelet-rich plasma.

Once everything was ready, the injections took only a few moments.

I know that is the part most people are curious about, so here is the honest version: there was a slight pinch and a bit of pressure, but it was very manageable. It was far less uncomfortable than I had built it up to be in my mind.

The whole experience felt clinical, calm, and surprisingly quick. There was nothing dramatic about it.

Was There Downtime?

Not really. After the treatment, I was able to continue with the rest of my day. I had a slight awareness of the area for a few hours, but I would not describe it as pain. It felt more like a subtle reminder that I had done something. I was given aftercare instructions, and I followed them. By later that evening, I wasn’t really thinking about it anymore.

That was probably the biggest surprise for me: how easy it was to fit into a regular day. I had imagined something far more intense.

When I Started Noticing Results

The results were not immediate, and I expected that.

PRP is not like flipping a switch. It works gradually. Over the following weeks, I began noticing subtle changes. Arousal felt easier. Sensation felt more pronounced. There was a sense of increased responsiveness that was hard to describe without sounding overly dramatic. Then came the first orgasm after treatment.

It felt different.

Stronger, more intense, and more satisfying than I had anticipated. Not in a way that felt artificial or strange, but in a way that made me think, “Oh. This is what people are talking about.” It wasn’t an overnight transformation, and I think that is important to say. It was more gradual than that. But the difference was noticeable enough that I understood why PRP for better orgasms has become such a popular conversation in women’s sexual wellness.

Did It Maximize Pleasure?

For me, yes.

I don’t think there is one single treatment that can replace communication, comfort, hormonal health, pelvic floor function, lubrication, emotional connection, or knowing your own body. Pleasure is multifactorial. It is not just one injection or one product or one appointment. But I do think the PRP Oh-Shot supported something that was already there.

It helped me feel more responsive. More connected to sensation. More aware of arousal.

And yes, my orgasms felt more intense.

That was the part I was most curious about — and the part that made me feel like the treatment was worth it.

Would I Do It Again?

Yes, I think I would.

The treatment was quick, comfortable, and easy to fit into my schedule. There was no real downtime, and I liked that it used my own PRP rather than something synthetic.

I also liked that the conversation itself felt empowering. There was something refreshing about sitting with a provider and talking openly about sexual wellness without it feeling awkward, performative, or embarrassing.

Would I Tell a Friend?

If she asked me about it, absolutely.

I don’t think every woman needs PRP for better orgasms. I don’t think every woman will have the same result. But I do think many women are curious about options to improve sensation, intimacy, lubrication, confidence, and pleasure — and they often don’t know where to start.

Sometimes hearing from someone who has actually done the treatment is more helpful than a medical explanation alone. So yes, I would tell a friend. I would tell her it was easier than I expected, more comfortable than I imagined, and more effective than I thought it might be. I would also tell her to book a consultation, ask every question, and make sure the treatment makes sense for her body and her goals.

The Takeaway

Trying the PRP Oh-Shot felt like doing something quietly powerful for myself.

It wasn’t about fixing something broken. It was about exploring what was possible.

Women’s sexual wellness deserves the same attention we give to skin, hormones, fitness, and mental health. Pleasure matters. Sensation matters. Intimacy matters. And if there are options that can help women feel more connected to their bodies, I think those conversations are worth having.

If you have been curious about PRP for better orgasms, I hope sharing my experience helps answer some of the questions I had before booking my own appointment.
