Understanding Female Sexual Wellness: Exploring Your Treatment Options

Pregnancy, childbirth, hormonal changes and aging can all change the way a woman experiences her body and her sexuality.

Sometimes it’s dryness or discomfort. Sometimes it’s decreased sensation, changes in orgasm or difficulty reaching orgasm at all. And sometimes, the biggest change is simply that intimacy doesn’t feel as good as it used to.

As a Nurse Practitioner specializing in women’s sexual health, I meet many women who have quietly accepted these changes because they assume they’re simply part of getting older, having children or going through menopause.

These changes may be common, but that doesn’t mean you have to ignore them.

At Sin Worthy, our approach to sexual wellness treatments focuses on three areas: function, sensation and aesthetics. Options range from non-invasive treatments and hormonal support to injectables and minimally invasive procedures, allowing us to build a plan around what has actually changed for you.

There Is No One “Best” Sexual Wellness Treatment

A woman experiencing vaginal dryness during perimenopause may need a very different approach than someone who has noticed a significant change in sensation after childbirth. That’s why I don’t believe in giving every woman the same treatment.

Instead, we start with the concern. Is it dryness? Leakage? Laxity? Decreased sensation? Changes in orgasm? Aesthetic changes? Or simply that sex feels different than it used to?

From there, we can determine which sexual wellness treatments make sense for your anatomy, symptoms and goals.

Hormone Optimization: When Hormones Are Part of the Picture

Perimenopause and menopause can affect much more than periods and hot flashes. Declining hormones can influence vaginal tissue, lubrication, comfort, libido and sexual function. Our Hormone Optimization and Menopause Program looks at the bigger picture, while additional sexual wellness treatments can be used to address more specific concerns with function, sensation or tissue changes.

Sometimes improving sexual wellness starts with understanding what your hormones are doing first.

Plus90: Supporting Vaginal Tissue and Function

Plus90 is a non-surgical radio-frequency treatment designed to support vaginal tissue quality and function. It may be considered for women experiencing changes such as vaginal laxity, tissue changes or urinary symptoms including stress leakage.

For some women, particularly when the primary concern is tissue quality or function rather than a significant structural change, Plus90 can be a good place to start.

Oh-Shot: Focusing on Sensation and Sexual Function

The Oh-Shot uses platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, to support tissues involved in female sexual response. PRP contains concentrated growth factors from your own blood and is injected into targeted sexual tissues with the goal of supporting circulation, tissue health and sensitivity. For women experiencing decreased sensation, changes in orgasm or difficulty achieving the same sexual response they once did, the Oh-Shot may be one option to discuss. Results vary, and no treatment can promise a particular sexual outcome, but for the right patient it can form part of a broader sexual wellness plan.

L-Plump: Where Aesthetics, Comfort and Confidence Meet

Changes to the labia can happen with age, hormonal shifts, childbirth and loss of volume.

For some women, the concern is mostly aesthetic. For others, those changes can also affect comfort, confidence and how they feel during intimacy. L-Plump uses dermal filler to restore volume to the labia and improve the appearance of vulvar tissues.

Because how you feel in your body matters too.

L-Tight: Addressing Vulvar Tissue Laxity

L-Tight is a non-surgical treatment focused on improving vulvar tissue quality, laxity and tone. Women may seek treatment following childbirth, as a result of age-related changes or when they notice differences in sensation or how intercourse feels.

For some women, improving tissue quality and firmness can create the change they’re looking for. For others, however, the concern may go deeper than tissue laxity.

That’s where the Vagilangelo is different.

Vagilangelo: When Intimacy Just Doesn’t Feel the Same

One of the most common things I hear from postpartum women is: “I don’t know how to explain it, but sex just doesn’t feel the same.”

That sentence tells us a lot.

Changes after childbirth aren’t always about pain or dryness. Sometimes they’re about sensation. Sometimes penetration feels different. Orgasms may change. And sometimes a woman simply feels less connected to a part of her body that once felt very responsive.

Childbirth can change the pelvic floor, vaginal tissues and perineum. In some women, these structural changes can also alter the mechanics of intercourse.

The Vagilangelo was developed with this specific concern in mind.

What Is the Vagilangelo?

The Vagilangelo is a minimally invasive, in-office procedure and non-surgical alternative for women looking to address structural changes that may be affecting intimacy.

The goal isn’t simply to make the vagina “tighter.” Instead, the procedure makes a precise adjustment near the level of the hymen with the goal of changing the vaginal angle and potentially increasing contact with more sensitive areas during penetration. This distinction matters, particularly for women who feel that childbirth changed how intimacy feels, rather than simply how their vulva looks.

How Does the Vagilangelo Work?

Treatment takes place in two parts.

First, PRP is injected into targeted sexual tissues to support tissue health and sexual function. The Vagilangelo procedure is then performed using local anesthesia. A precise adjustment is made to alter the vaginal angle and mechanics of penetration.

The procedure is performed in-office and typically takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

The focus is not cosmetic tightening for the sake of tightening. The goal is to address an anatomical change that may be contributing to changes in sensation.

Why Can the Vaginal Angle Matter?

The vagina isn’t simply a straight tube. Its orientation and relationship with the surrounding pelvic structures can influence where contact and stimulation occur during penetration. After childbirth, changes to the perineum and vaginal tissues may alter this orientation.

For some women, this may contribute to decreased stimulation or the sense that intercourse simply doesn’t feel the way it did before. This is the anatomical change the Vagilangelo is designed to address. For the woman who says, “I can have sex, but I don’t feel much anymore,” understanding why things feel different can be an important part of finding the right treatment.

What Do Women Tell Me After Treatment?

Some of the most meaningful feedback I hear isn’t about appearance.

It’s about connection.

“Intimacy feels good again.”

“I finally feel something again.”

For some women, the difference is sensation. For others, it’s confidence, orgasm or simply being able to enjoy intimacy without constantly thinking about what feels different. Of course, individual results vary. No procedure can guarantee an orgasm, a particular degree of sensation or a specific sexual outcome.

The goal is to identify what has changed and, when appropriate, address the function or anatomy contributing to it.

What Is Recovery Like?

One reason women consider the Vagilangelo is that it is an in-office, minimally invasive procedure rather than traditional vaginal surgery. At Sin Worthy, we generally recommend avoiding exercise and heavy lifting for 48 hours, as well as vaginal penetration, tampons and anything inserted into the vagina for two weeks. Intercourse can typically resume after two weeks if healing is progressing appropriately.

The treatment is designed to create a longer-lasting anatomical change rather than a temporary cosmetic effect. Duration of results can vary from woman to woman as the body continues to age and change.

Finding the Right Sexual Wellness Treatment for You

There is no single treatment that every woman needs.

Depending on what you’re experiencing, your options may include hormone and tissue support, Plus90 for vaginal tissue and urinary concerns, the O-Shot for sensation and sexual function, L-Plump for volume and aesthetics, L-Tight for vulvar laxity, or the Vagilangelo when structural changes may be affecting the mechanics of intimacy.

Some women need one treatment. Others benefit from a combination.

The goal isn’t to treat for the sake of treatment. It’s to understand what has changed, why it has changed and what, if anything, you would like to do about it.

At Sin Worthy, every sexual wellness treatment begins with a conversation and individualized assessment so we can determine which options make sense for your anatomy, concerns and goals.
